I can't figure out how to trim down a .VOB file using VideoReDoTV
Suite.

This was a fairly pricey app, so I was hoping it could do the
job.

No problem opening a .VOB.

No problem editing it.

The rub comes when it's time so save in that particular format.

Assuming it just can't do it, anybody got a suggestion for an app
that can? Nothing sophisticated, just want to trim off a bunch
of advertisements and then save the .VOB.

A .VOB file is just an MPEG-2 file with extra stuff that is only relevant
when it’s part of the filesystem structure on a DVD-Video disc.

I don't understand why someone would want to edit a single .vob.
I assume you've ripped a DVD, and gotten a set of files, which would
include several .vob files.

You need to edit each .vob to remove commercials, join them together
into one video, and then get VideoReDoTV to author a DVD. It does all
this very well.

I was trying to take the easy way out - not changing the
structure of the DVD, just identifying the troublesome
(advertisements, stern warnings...) .VOBs and, instead of trying
to eliminate them, just shortening them to a couple of seconds in
length.
